As a writer, I hole up for days on end, but I came up for air this weekend and ended up in downtown Woodstock, Georgia. It is a great place to take photographs, eat good food, and wander into interesting shops. I eat brunch there occasionally at J Christopher's and I haven't found much to beat the gluten free pizza at Firestone.
On Saturday,
I stopped into Cupcakelicious, a quaint bakery right on Main Street. I usually avoid bakeries, because all those glutens flying around in the air are not good for someone with any type of gluten issue. Apparently, I was living on the edge, and rewarded with a gluten free offering of a fresh "sweet and salty." The description of this cupcake reads "vanilla bean cupcake, buttercream topping drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with sea salt finished with pretzel garnish!" Hunting down gluten free confections has never been so satisfying!
Armed with a sugar high, we leisurely wandered Main into several more places. Not far from Cupcakelicious is the gallery and shop Woodstock Art and Glass offering jewelry, a gallery, and an art glass studio. We met Peyton there, who invited us to join the classes in art glass held at the gallery.
The Dress Up boutique was in the shopping area situated on the old train station side of town and across the street from where we started. We were pleasantly suprised at the reasonable pricing and remarked that we had wondered into one of my Pinterest Boards. Chiffon blouses, mint jeans, jewelry, good lighting, and non boutique pricing; a feminine wow store to add to our list of places to go to.
Our last stop was the girl scout cookie table, where my friend bought cookies, and I talked to the girls about what gluten free means. It was a nice breezy day of walking and enjoying each other's company. Maybe next week we will review pizza for the blog, mmmm.
Livin' gluten free and fabulous,
Kim
