There are many illnesses and chronic issues that can affect day to day life. We are all dealing with something. Whether it is disease or mental illness, an injury or chronic pain, our own or the pain of someone we love, it is our attitude toward it that can help or hinder. There is always someone who deals with something worse. I appreciate the things in me that are healthy and the ways I can live my life. Celiac Disease is one of many things I deal with, but is a small part of my life, not who I am.
I write about gluten free living to encourage others who find themselves feeling overwhelmed with trying to eat the opposite of current societal norms or who still feel awful every day. There is light at the end of the tunnel and one day you will look around and realize you no longer think about what you are going to eat or how ill you are. You won't worry about your hair falling out or your skin driving you crazy. Your dresser won't be full of medication and your hands and feet won't hurt. You might even sleep through the night and go days without a headache. And one day your stomach won't be the thing you think about when you wake up. The brain fog will clear and you will find a way to order in a restaurant without having to call 911. Your pain will ease and you will be feel fabulous now and then. Then one day you will just be fabulous.
It is up to you. It is your life.
Be fabulous.
Barefoot and gluten free,
Kim
