Will you let anyone or anything cause you to squander your life?
It is yours to live, or yours to sleep through. Why waste your precious time left on anything less than wonderful?

Transformation, purpose, vitality...
Are you awake? Are you living your life with purpose and forward motion, or are you asleep at the wheel, on auto pilot?
We are here for a season, our lives a whisper, (or a whimper), or we live something profound and become life changers ourselves. If you are still wondering what you are supposed to do with your life, start with making the choice to have one. Choose to live. One way to wake up and live is to simply make it your goal to make your life and the lives of those around you happier, better.
Consider it an assignment to make your corner of the planet a better place, an encouraging place of refuge, or an exciting hopeful oasis.
Give what you need. It will come back to you.
It is vital that you realize that you have to be the change that you want to see in the world.
You can wake up.
If you are just getting through the day, let go of the mourning period you have been in. Dare to let go of pity, sympathy, self absorption, martyrdom, self flagellation.
It's time for "a wonderful life".
Do you dream of doing exactly what you want every day, maybe not going to work anymore with people to wait on you hand and foot? Do you think about not having schedules, no responsibilities? What would you do with endless hours and no responsibility? How many days would you sleep in? How many nights would you run around? Would you be happy?
Days that stretch into the future absent of dreams or somewhere to head, days without something to work on, something that gets your blood pumping, are empty.
I guess you have to know what makes you feel happy, but more importantly you have to know what gives you a reason to get up every day and live.
If you have ever felt pointless, hopeless, lifeless, or lost; if you have lost your reason to get up and try, then you know what it is like to be truly unhappy.
I know I want to feel something that is good, spine tingling, energy producing, filled with excitement, rather than feeling flat and lifeless. Happiness is made up of contentment, excitement, hopefulness, making the impossible possible. It is spiritual. It is using our minds and body to create a better world, a better day, someone's better moment...and sharing some of those with other people.
Happiness is dreaming of the could be's and finding our way through the dark.
It seems to me that having everything without any responsibility, fulfilling work, or a place to be doesn't make very happy people. The happiest people I know have at least one thing in common - A reason to get up every day...purpose. These same people allow themselves to relish the victories, experience the losses, rejoice in the big moments.
Only someone who has been in that dark place will know how amazing coming back into the light feels.
Consider what you would do with endless hours with no where to be, nothing to do, no one to be responsible for ever again. Endless days without real interaction, without achievement, without pride in a job well done, without a life worth living.
We wither away without purpose, because our minds need to be occupied. Our brains will hum with good purposeful thoughts, or our minds will find ways to be occupied with negative or bad things.
Our human minds and bodies want to feel. Give yourself something to grab onto so that you won't look for momentary false intensity through porn, drinking too much, causing chaos, or driving too fast.
Whatever your weakness is will come to the surface and beg for attention, if you don't give your humanness something better to grab onto.
We all need some sort of structure every day, something that we have to fulfill, some higher calling. We all need a reason to get up in the morning and try. We all need to feel something beyond the bed, television, or computer, because we are made that way. We are human.
Whether you are an extreme sports junkie who is always striving for that next big trick or jump or a librarian filling the library with children and new books, ...having a reason to be here that gets you up and excited about life is the key to being happy.
Come on. You can do it. Anyone can think about what they are good at, what they like. Don't let another hopeless day capture you. Find your reason and focus on that. Just start. If you don't know your reason, make your focus finding it. I am praying for you right now.
Find your reason.

Thought for the day: Let some light in....
I went to let my dog out through the back door and saw a beautiful day outside. Finding the sunlight bursting outside the door gave me a jolt, so I opened all the drapes and let the light in.
Light comes in many forms, sunshine yellow, the bright evening orange right before sunset, and those bright white days with blue sky and white clouds, wher sunlight that breaks up as it streams into the room where I am sitting.
I am sure you get where I am going with this. If you are down or feeling under the weather, light and color can have a profound effect on your mood. Resist the urge to go hide out in the darkest room in the house. Pull yourself up and open the drapes, wash your face, and let some sun hit your skin. Then you can climb back in bed, but your mood will be lighter. Don't underestimate the power of light on your face, color from outdoors. With your burst of light, say a prayer asking God to heal your mind and body and fill you with good thoughts and life. Focusing on health and life in combination with light and color will chase away dark thoughts.

scripture and quotes
After a weekend with friends at a woman's conference, I have decided to include this new section called anazaó, which is a Greek word that means to revive, to live again, to be restored. It is my prayer that each daily reading that will follow will help to restore and revive the broken hearted or those dealing with depression. I pray that each one who reads these words will begin to live their best lives. As a Christian, I believe that life comes from God, so I pray that his zōḗ life comes to you.
7:20 am on 9/23
P raying for a friend kept me up some last night. I know this person is dealing with something very difficult and needs more than a kind word, because depression and sadness make it difficult sometimes impossible, to get up every morning and move forward. So I was inspired to look in the bible for some encouraging words and life sustaining verses.
The best way to start changing or transforming our minds is to put life giving things in them. For Christians, the bible is our go to for healing and words that change us from the inside. The words we read there will not return void. ( Isaiah 55:11 ESV. So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.)
The words we find in God's word and pray over ourselves will succeed and flourish, so let us start with these. (If you are not a Christian, still try this. Meditate on and memorize scriptures or sayings that encourage life to change your thought patterns of negative or depressed thinking.):
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10 (NASB) 1. Ask him to give you a clean heart, a new start, to renew a steadfast spirit within you.
2. Pray specifically for the desire to live and live fully.
3. Ask him for vitality, the ability to live, be youthful, and be restored.
4. Ask for Passion, nephesh (soul, desire, passion, appetite, emotion ) .
from the Hebrew, According to biblehub.com
nephesh: a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion Original Word: נָ֫פֶשׁ
Part of Speech: Noun Feminine
Phonetic Spelling: (neh'-fesh)
Short Definition: soul
Psalm 91:14 (NASB)
words from God to man...
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name." 5. Pray to be delivered, that you will be set securely, and tell God that you love him.
6. You can ask him for zōḗ life, which is God's life of abundance and salvation. from the Greek: zōḗ – life (physical and spiritual). All life (2222 /zōḗ), throughout the universe, is derived – i.e. it always (only) comes from and is sustained by God's self-existent life. The Lord intimately shares His gift of life with people, creating each in His image which gives all the capacity to know His eternal life. http://thediscoverybible.com/
from John 10:10
10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
I pray that my friend in need will specifically have the desire to live, to once again have passion and an appetite for life. I pray God's zoe life fills him and that God will create a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within him. I pray that he is delivered and held secure by God. I pray that he is restored in the best God has for him and knows that he is here for a specific purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.
